TRAILS IN NEWZEALAND

The Omanawanui Track

The Omanawanui Track sits in the beautiful Waitākere Ranges and has some seriously stunning views. Since the trail runs along a hillside, we get to see amazing panoramic shots of the West Coast the whole way.

It’s a fun track for anyone who enjoys being active and doesn’t mind a bit of a challenge. There are some steep sections that get your heart racing, and finishing them feels super rewarding.

Our team—Sanjana, Rishab, and myself (Anu)—took on the track together with our trek leader, Joshua.

At one end, near the car park, we saw the beautiful black sand beach PIHA and the famous Lion Rock.

There are roughly 2,500–3,000 steps, and the track is about 3.5–4 km from start to end. But Joshua made us walk it back and forth in one go😢, so it took us nearly 4 hours to finish. Ofcourse it was completely worth it😊.
